I’ve had a few odd experiences with pain while trying to lucid dream and I’m wondering if anyone has any ideas.
The last few times I’ve attempted to induce a lucid dream (WILD) I can feel I’m falling asleep and start to enter my dream when I start to feel a slight aching pain on my left side (around the kidney area). It’s never anywhere else, just always on my left side, regardless of how I’m laying. It also only happens when I try the wake induced method. It starts out very slight, but gradually becomes more painful as I fall deeper into sleep. I try not thinking about it and to focus on the dream but it won’t go away and I eventually end up waking myself up to make it stop. It’s very bizarre. I’ve never had any problems with this area of my body so I’m guessing it’s some sort of mental problem?
Pain while lucid dreaming?
I have never had a simular exp but i believe there could be two reasons for it. The chances are that it’s a mental thing, your brain makes you think you’re feeling pain, just like you do in dreams. There’s a small chance thought it could be caused from SP. I dont really know, but im just guessing…
Yeah, I’m sure I don’t have any real problems with my kidney, it’s not even directly on my kidney, I just said it was in that area. It only happens when I’m entering a dream, and I’ve never felt it any other time. It also goes away immediately after I wake up so it’s got to be just in my head, but I just can’t figure it out.
ive had before where just before i went lucid it feel like bricks were smashing against the top of my head…or at least thats what i thought at the moment, it was more of just extreme vibrations in my head
Hmm… ive felt my body hurt a bit before entering SP but it wasnt that bad. I think that’s how you’re body checks if you’re still awake, so it doesnt go in SP if you dont want to sleep.
Well next time you try WILD keep telling yourself that it’s all in your mind, that there is no pain and that you will feel nothing. Same thing you do with MILD, but instead of willing yourself to LD, will him not to hurt.
I had a nasty virus a few weeks ago, and that gave me a pain near my liver that I only noticed when lying in bed without distractions, and as the WILD technique involves clearing your mind, it would remove all distractions. If you haven’t been having it for long, just wait and see if it passes, else I would ask a doctor, just to be on the safe side.
