i had three brief low-level lds a few months ago but nothing since. in my quest to discover my dreamsigns i’ve noticed a strange pattern in my dreams. while i remain solid and never become anyone else, and very very rarely go into third-person, everyone else around me changes; i could look away from someone for a second and then look back and they are someone else. it’s not a shock though, it seems very fluid. the same thing happens with the objects and situations around me. does anyone else get this, and what does it say about me? it may just mean that i’m self-absorbed(it’s true) but could it mean anything else?
p.s)is it possible in any way, shape or form for me to recognise this and use it as adreamsign to become lucid?
This is indeed a very common dreamsign. Many people report gradual or complete changes in their dream characters throughout the course of a dream; often, someone will refer to a strange man who gradually becomes the dreamer’s sister, or a young boy who suddenly becomes a teenager. Seemingly unfamiliar dream characters becoming people close and familiar to you is especially common.
If you train yourself to recognize this, it would definitely be a very useful dreamsign, especially if it occurs as often as you say it does. Try doing reality checks as you would with a watch, but instead use other people; glance at a stranger, look away for a while, and then look back to make sure that they’re still the same person, and/or do the same thing with your friends and family. Soon enough, you should be able to train yourself to recognize it and become lucid upon its occurence.
The whole thing you mention is a dream sign. Just acknowledging and recognizing the change itself is a BIG sign. You should remember that to help with your lucidity
This happens to me a lot. DCs also change apperance without me noticing. Like this night, a girl had first pink hair, then blonde and then somekind of braids. I didn’t notice the changes before I woke up and tried to remember the dream.
