Practical Lucid Dreaming?

Has anyone here ever tried to use lucid dreaming for a practical
purpose, like finding a lost object or help with career and relationships?

Example 1:Hello purple elf chick! I had too much to drink last night
and I seem to have lost my Mp3 player.Do you know where
I misplaced it.?

Example 2:Hello green slimy wall with a big eye that shoots laser beams
at me! I am thinking about making a major career change and relocating to
the United States.(Q);p Do you know what steps would be best for me to take?

Example 3:Hello prophet guy who always tells me that the worlds coming
to an end! Well dude I finally brought her home to my place and she said
it’s not normal to have all of my furniture upside down and screwed to the ceiling.
She then ran out the door. How do I get her back?

hahahaha :cool_laugh: nice examples  :content:
I havent done this myself, but ive heard of people doing it, and i reckon that would be a really helpfull thing though! Cause your subconcious could pick up on where you’ve put it, then you could ask a DR (or one of those crazy alien monster prophet things  ) and im sure they would have the knowledge of where it is or how to help you!!! Awsome idea!! im ceratin to use it if i ever need it

I read a lucid dreaming book that had exaples of people useing lucid dreaming for practical purposes. One lady used her lucid dreaming to learn to play a song on her french horn. She was proficient with her instrument and knew the song but never put them together. Apparently she had no time to practise so she did so in her LDs and when she went to play it on the day of the concert, she was flawless.

Yeah, lots of people do this. I think the LD4ALL web site’s design even came to the creator in a dream.

I’ve heard many people use lucid dreaming to get over their fear of public speaking in particular.

In EWLD I read about a doctor who goes over his patient’s cases in his dreams and hes the best doctor in his hospital.

I used to ask musicians who’s music I liked for advice on how I should compose my next song, but they always seemed to try to avoid me when I went looking for them.

Josh, do you mean dream musicians or waking life musicians?

Well, they are real in waking life, but in my dreams they are simple DCs, built by my mind from my expectations and experiences of the real versions of them…but they are still very helpful

Quite honestly, your subconscious is an idiot who blurts out a lot of incoherent random crap. On the other hand, it probably remembers and knows a whole lot more than you, but from what I’ve picked up it’s very hard to pull of something like this (getting straight to the point answers from your subconscious, that is).

You can still learn from your experiences in dreams though, both conscously and, more importantly, subconciously. Like practicing physical arts, instruments, social skills or just creativity.

In my dream group we did practice using lucid dreaming for healing, and it seems to have worked. The dreams people got were very insightful. I also think there were a few energy exchanges and psychic links.

I’ve always liked searching for paintings in my lucid dreams and reproduceing them after I wake up.

But recently I’ve discovered that I can ask a lucid dream to show me paintings that are answers to spcific questions. I’ve done it twice so far.

I wish I could draw, period, let alone draw as well as you.

I think that LD in general is ‘practical’ as its an exploration of your mind in such detail that it changes your outlook on life. But in you context (careers, choices etc), i think that it is possible for you to get help from your LD’s. Some people believe that we can reach a higher state of mind in our subconcious, understanding things that our mind in waking life could not.

by the way, cool artwork epic!

Well right after I made this statement I had a painting dream.

Portrait dream
I had an unusual dream, because I can’t draw worth jack. In my dream I was drawing a landscape, and a house. I had people watching me draw, Jean Campbell from World Dreams was there and my partner Eric was there, and a few others. As I drew, it felt very natural and I thought I was doing a good job with the details. As I drew the house, I got the psychic impression that a child had been kidnapped. Jean gasped. This really upset her, and some wondered if we ought to go find this house and confront the parents. EOD.

Comments: Maybe this is a step in having a lucid dream. I am hoping coming here and reading about Lucid dream techniques I can finally have a lucid dream. I’ve only had one that I am totally sure of, in my life, where I knew that I was dreaming in the dream. I do remember a few dreams, and usually conscious in every other way, except knowing that I am dreaming.
