Question regarding WILD and astral projection

to my knowledge,
the methods of achieving both can be very similar if not exactly the same.
It would really be nice if someone could explain the difference.
Thankx
(also, no one has yet to answer my question in the Dream Journal Forum titled: “What was this experience?” :help: , would be nice if someone could take a look)

The difficulty with the question of the difference between the methods is, to some people there is no difference. There are some who believe astral projection and OoBEs to be purely a dreamed experience; that people never leave their bodies. To them, the only difference would be what you believed was happening.

From a believers perspective. (I can’t say I’m certain they are possible.) In a WILD, you focus on staying aware whilst you let yourself sleep. Whereas to have an OoBE I believe you would imagine yourself outside of your body, or use some technique to separate yourself from your physical body. I have to admit though, I’m by no means experienced with astral projection or OoBE.

I think Dragon just about summed it up correctly; there is only a difference between WILD and AP if you believe in AP.

I am not a believer in AP, and thus see them as the same thing. From my understanding of AP one of the more common methods is to wait for SP to set in and then “get up” out of your body. This is where point of view comes in; Since I don’t believe in OBE my perspective is that I am now in a lucid dream. Someone who believes in AP would contest that they are now in the Astral Plane (i think, not too familiar with OBE).
