Quick fire WILD question

Hey all,

I’ve been trying to get Lucid Dreaming in a way not too different to WILD, and I am having to problems/ annoyances:

  1. I become too focused on my breathing, meaning I can’t sleep as I have to manually (well manually mentally) breath. Is this a common thing, or am I just having a little problem?

  2. I reach a point where my body goes partially numb, sort of semi-paralysis state, but I start having slight spasms. Is this typical, or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks a lot!

:welcome: hi, Myonosken!

  1. i have the opposite problem, which is i start thinking about something random and just drift off. Try to become relaxed. Also, WILD is, from my understanding, harder then MILD. Keep trying WILD, but mix it with MILD (reality checks and whatnot).

  2. i don’t know what to tell you about this one. Whenever i am half paralyzed i open my eyes too early and it ruins everything.

Anywho good luck and sweet dreams!

  1. I had that at first too. It takes practice, you have to find the balance. I find it helps to actually look in front of me into the darkness, my breaths being backround noise. I listen to them, but dont concentrate.

  2. Yes it is normal, just ignore it all and keep relaxed. Keep doing what you are doing. For the first week I tried I got to this point and went in reverse, but once you get passed that it becomes easier.

Whenever I get far into wilding I get spasms too. I actually use it to my advantage. I don’t know how but it helps me get farther into dreams. I can’t even begin to explain it but it feels like it intensifies it. And whenever I get to that point I am mins away from dreaming so don’t give up! too bad my wild dreams don’t last long

Hey, I have the exact same problem, its like your breathing is way more obvious than waking life, and you have to manually do it. The spasms I have been able to stop, its like your muscles go stir crazy. The way to solve it is dont just go over your body and relax it, its like they have energy built up, so clench them before relaxing. This can be annoying too, once I was trying to wild, and my whole body jumped like it was electrocuted… back to step 1 !

Yah,when tried WILD for the first time, lol,I got this wierd ear itch,so i did a RC (not dreaming) then i was like im not going to let this itch bothes me.THen I get up and scratch the itch but it wont go away! I scratch and scratch and scratch bt nothing happens,it sucked.

Haha, I found my problem XD- exams.

I’m part way through my exams to enter Uni, so I’m pretty stressed. I had my last one for two weeks yesterday, and last night none of these problems happened.

Thanks a lot everyone, glad to see a community that’s friendly.

That happens to me alot too. The one thing is just that i can ignore it. Except for of course last night… I wen to bed and started on my WILD attempt. It went fine until I got an itch on my lower belly. It annoyed me so I scratched it and then immediately continued teh WILD. I felt really weird, I guess i scratched to hard or something  but i felt like i got pretty far along into my Sleep cycle like at teh part where you feel like floating and spinning around right after I closed my eyes. But anyways after that I got another itch. I tried to ignore it but i started getting spasms. Not just regular twitches either. My whole arme twitched and then my right leg and after that my WHOLE right side just jerked upwards. I was like :woah: .

After reading around…it seems I’ve ben doing this every now and then for years XD. That would explain why i can still remember those dreams. A common thing when I was younger was that, if I spun around or something began to turn, I’d get a soprt of mental loop, and be unable to stop it looping. Then realising I was dreaming, I’d partially control it but, not knowing I was in control back then, I just sort of drifted off.
