Reality Checks failing

Hey. For the first time I did a RC in a dream last night. But it failed… I did the one where you pull your fingers to see if they get longer.

Just wondered if that RC is going to fail every time or I should find another one?(already have two)

Moved from General Lucidness. :dragon:

I had problems with finger through hand when i was a beginner. But i changed to counting fingers and it works 9/10 times  usually have 6-8 fingers in a dream.

My method was to check how many fingers I have, and it worked (sometimes I had 12 fingers) but after a while it stopped working for some reason. The finger through hand used to also used to be a favoured RC of mine but it can be unreliable.
My favourite method now is the nose pinch RC, where you pinch your nose and try to breath without using your mouth. It has never failed for me since.

This is the most common problem with RCs.

You see, when you do reality checks IRL, you don’t actually believe it’s a dream. You know it’s not.

But, in order to succeed, you always have to believe you are dreaming, convince yourself.
Do RCs like you are really in a dream.
Good luck!

Lord Antares is right. When you do RC’s IRL, you gotta expect them to work and expect yourself to be in a dream.

Haha, didn’t know about the pulling fingers trick.
I mostly get my Lucid’s when I false awoke. And once I though there were weird coulors on the door… :meh: I though " Wow, that’s weird… Is this a dream? " Then I did a reality check by breathing while holding my nose and mouth. Guess, what… I didn’t work…
And some weeks ago it worked…

Geeh… My mind just outsmarts these tricks… :meh: I need to come with something new everytime, haha. xD

I used to count my fingers as RC. But I think it takes “too much time” and already read many people who said it has failed at least once.

I like to use the nose RC, it’s simple, fast and never failed to me.
I remember a dream that I was afraid of losing lucity and started walking with my hands in my nose doing the RC everytime. That was a little too much, i think. hahaha
