Does anyone have any suggestions on how to remember to do RT’S. It’s not that I forget about it completely,it’s just that I keep putting it off until later because I’ve gotton caught up in something else during the day, and before I know it, it’s 7:00 P.M and I haven’t done any. What can I do to remedy this problem once and for all? Also, how many RT’s would you say is necessary for it to be effective? Somewhere I read that 12 will work, but that just doesn’t seem like enough to me.
Put it off till later? whhyy? Its not hard or time consuimg just to look at your hands quickly and ask yourself if your dreaming. My problem is I simply never remember to do them, my mind’s to busy.
well if your thinking that they are to hard to do in the time you have thought about it you could have done it already ??
what the hell did i just say?
well its taken me about 0.5secs to look at my nose throught the corner of my eye, and about 1-2 to put your finger in your hand, they aren’t ment to be hard things to do, make them as simple as possible so you can do them easily and quickly, i think the key for RT is to make them frequent so when you do them daily with as little effort as possible so you do them as easily and effortlessly in your dreams.
I have had a hard time remembering about RC’s through my normal day. My mind is just always thinking about a multitude of things and I completely forget to do them. I have had success though by writing R.C. on either (or both) of the backs of my hands. That way as I do my normal daily stuff I’ll forget and notice it on the back of my hand and thing “oh yeah, I remember that.” and then do a RC right there.
It’s funny though when friends ask you about it, and you tell them.
You could try setting a trigger: For example whenever my computer takes a few seconds to open Firefox or something else and I feel frustrated, I do a RC. Actually, I do RCs every time I’m frustrated nowadays, I find that quite handy.
Anyway, there’s no way around doing RCs if you want to have DILDs (that is, to use the MILD technique). Even with great recall, you need to train yourself to separate dreams from reality if you want DILDs. I’ve found that to be the case with me now that my recall has improved.
Here’s an idea I’m dying to try. Put RT or RC Signs in appropriate places. For example, If i were to do one, I’d put one in front of my desk, maybe even in the kitchen and next the door on your way out.
Another thing i’d want to do, would be to ask someone to create an RC/RT Screen-saver.
The latter you can achieve by using standard Windows “Text 3D” screen saver and putting text like “Am I dreaming?” in it. And it’s actually a very good idea to utilize useless screen savers into something as important
I simply made a huge cross on my right hand and every time I saw it, I knew that I had to do a RC / RT. I think I had to do that in a week or so before I was able to remember to do them regularly… and this really HAS given me a few surprises in my dreams, where I find myself doing a random RC and suddenly realizing: “What?! I was POSITIVE this was NOT a dream! I had no clue…”
