Sleeping in a lucid dream

Has anyone tried sleeping for 8 hours with time dilation in a lucid dream that actually only lasts 5 or 3 hours or 1 hour even in real life? I’ve heard what you do in your dreams affects your real waking life. Therefore if you spend 8 hours sleeping in a lucid dream while only sleeping for 1 hour in real life would that be equivalent of sleeping 8 hours in real life? The purpose of doing this would to reduce the amount of time you’re sleeping from 8 hours to as little as possible so you have you more free hours in the day to do whatever. Hope this makes sense.

Time dilation is kind of a myth. Perception of time is subjective, so a dream can feel longer than it actually is, especially if it’s exciting and/or has time jumps between scenes (same way the plot of a movie can span days/months/years in a couple hours), but Inception-style time dilation where X minutes in a dream equals Y minutes in waking life but Z minutes in a dream-in-a-dream is not a thing.

Also, your body physically requires a certain amount of sleep. One hour of sleep is one hour of sleep, and dreaming about sleeping for another seven will make up for lost sleep no more than dreaming about eating will fill you up so you don’t have to eat breakfast.
