I actually managed to become lucid earlier this morning. And i noticed that in my dream that when i became lucid and reached the conclusion that everything in my environment wasn’t real (the thought before this of course was that i was dreaming), my environment faded to a white. Now this isnt the first time that it has happened and normally i new environment would appear after some seconds.
However this time i was hit with a sensation of dizziness and one of where it feels like everything is moving/spinning around me (even though it was just a blank white space). Then darkness came in and reduced my view of white to a small dot. I focused on this one spot and it became bigger, but then i noticed that my right eye was opening, and i wasnt sure weather this was my dream eye or my real eye (of course NOW i realize the latter cannot be true in any sense), so i stopped all together and just woke up some time later.
The questions:
1- Is there a clear cut definition of what this white space is and why i keep entering it when i become lucid and realize nothing I’m looking at is real (like IWL real)?
2- Does this dizziness mean that its a low level lucid or something else, and may it have been the cause of the onset of blackness (that second part i mainly just want opinions)?
3- When i get that feeling of my eye(s) opening, how can i differentiate more effectively that its not my real eye(s) opening, because it felt so real when i accidentally did it in my dream.
I apologize if any of these questions are silly but i just wanted to clarify, because this isnt the first time these things have happened.
Hi there !
This sound very familiar to me. In fact, at the very end of each of my ND’s I get slightly lucid. And when I do everything becomes white and I wake up in less than two seconds. In fact… it did happen because I managed to find out how to get rid of that.
I won’t answer your questions because it’s like asking someone “How do I feel ?”. Well, only you know how you feel (and God), so it differs from person to person, but as I can see, the stages of lucid skill are quite the same. The difference is that I only saw white, for you it was also black.
Anyways, I keep suggesting people what to do when they are low lucid or if the dream fades away. You have to remember two things (which are very hard to remember, but once you do, chances are granted to work).
First thing is to fall on your back. Yes, fall on your back while telling yourself you would have a FA - those usually make the dream stable and vivid. When falling on your back, you would see just black at first. The problem here is that you might wake up. In that case, here comes number two.
Number two is to remember to do DEILD - the technique is about not moving and not opening your eyes the very moment you are waking up. Let yourself lie there in your bed the position you woke up. Here you might have huge problems with the roll-over signal. The second you woke up and you don’t move ANY MUSCLE at all, the rollover signal will come all of a sudden with a terrible urge to move. I had huge problems with that. Apparently if you stay still you would re-enter your dream - that is WILD in 10 seconds.
If you can not resist the urge to move, then roll over and simply continue your REM cycle by simply doing a WILD. Still, the best chance to have another LD would be to go back to sleep normally.
Hope that kinda helps you out of this mess (mess I personally was in too about 2 days ago
) !
Thanks a bunch Don!
I’ll try remembering the falling back thing. As for DEILD it seems i’d have more of a problem with an urge to use the bathroom as opposed to just moving
but anyways thanks ill try to practice staying perfectly still whenever i get the chance and remember to do it. XD
Funny, I fade into blackness at the end of a LD and then wake up, not white.
haha usually when i fade to white a new environment comes in. very weird i had a mix of both this time. of course at the end of my LD it was ALL black, i DIDNT go to white and wake up.
Ah ok, I’ve never faded into a new environment in a LD, so that probably explains why I’ve never noticed the white stuff.
