I like to write songs.
I play guitar and drums, I play drums better but that’s because I’ve been playing them longer (about 4 years, and I still get a kick out of hitting things with pieces of wood 
).
I’ve been playing guitar on and off for about three years, seriously for about a year now. I’m still in the process of writing my first full song - I have lots of little bits and pieces that have potential to be songs, but I haven’t been able to think of a way to expand upon them.
So…
my first song - I have an intro riff and a verse so far, but am still thinking about the chorus.
So basically this is a thread for all you songwriters to write, about songwriting!

Yeah, I love to compose/improv but I can’t put anything together. I’ve got a great catchy melody on the piano but by the time I try and connect the melody with a song my memory fades and I’ve lost a song.
Do you have any audio/video recorders? I’m thinking about buying some and just improving for Youtube but I’m lacking in good sound quality.
I have a computer microphone, which I use for recording ideas, so if I forget them I can just take a listen on my computer. It’s awesome for the price and quality, it was only £20!
Audacity is a really good audio editor. Plus it’s free. You can get it off sourceforge.
I know what you mean, I’ve been trying to write songs for about 2 months and am only just about getting one together.
Oh well, practice makes it easier. It has to!!
