spoiled lucidity

ok, last night I got lucid for the first time in at least a few months and it was one of the longer and more fun ones Ive ever had… But there was one small problem. I had pretty high lucidity and I could do whatever I wanted/knew entirely that it was a dream. Yet occasionally I would “feel” my body in bed and I would think to myself "I wish I would fully fall asleep so I could better enjoy this experience. I did have periods where I was fully immersed in the dream, but other times were spoiled by me thinking I was just visualizing and not fully dreaming.

It probably didnt help that the dream started off at my house and ended with a FA. Well, my question to all of you is whether you have ever had the experience of thinking you were less lucid than you really were. Like thinking in a dream that it was just a visualization and you werent fully asleep yet.

Congratulations on long and fun LD

This morning I was lying in my bed just thinking on stuff, then I turned and realised that I had been able to see what I was thinking clearly. I had been dreaming but thought I was just visualizing.
Not quite what you were talking about though

Thanks MovieMe

That actually is pretty close to what Im talking about; just that I was asleep and dreaming when that happened to me.

great job with the LD!

:ok:  :good: :ok: Great job on LD!

Thanks ld411 and kt4all. Hopefully itll get me motivated to start actually trying again. But in order to try to keep this at least a little on topic and avoid just chatting(though I very much appreciate the congratulations) Id like to say again that I was curious if anyone else has had a Lucid Dream where they can do everything like a normal lucid dream but sometimes think that it is just their imagination?

There is quite a range of experience in terms of lucidity and awareness. Conciousness can be fluid. Even when we are ‘awake’ we can drift around in fantasies and daydreams.

I had a recent lucid dream that I believed was a WILD, but really I was in a ND dreaming I was sleeping in a chair then I became lucid.

I also had false lucid dreams, where I acted as if lucid, but really was not.

Most people believe they are more lucid than they really are while the dream is occurring. It is only when you awaken and fully think about dream can you see where dream logic was occurring (e.g. believing DC was a real person).

Some people suggest that you become lucid you spend some time increasing your lucidity before playing.
For me that usually ends the LD too quickly, but I try to remember to slow down a bit and taken in dream environment before trying dream activities.

I havnt had an LD yet, but ive read that you can look at your hands to stay in it. I have had dreams where i didnt think i was asleep, but i was and the whole dream was me laying in bed looking around. but there was sort of a rushing motion like i was in a roller coaster bed :content: but i pretty much felt like i was completly in bed, except for this rushing feeling.
