This has been bothering me all year. I had a strange lucid dream at the end of last year. I felt like a vibration kind of feeling and I knew it was a dream and I remember that someone said that I should say “I wish to commune with my higher self.”
I said the above phrase and I felt like I was briefly in a roller coaster ride. I don’t know if I could really see the surroundings, but it just seemed like it was dark and empty with lights off in the distance, like looking at the night sky. There was a being there that looked like he had a black robe on. I also assumed “he” since that’s how the presence felt. I just started asking questions and got answers. Each time I asked a question, his face changed. I just remember one was like a skull kind of face, and one was some strange green face.
I eventually asked the question “How many aliens are there on Earth?” Then my dream ended and I woke up. I am pretty sure that question was not answered.
All of my questions must have been pointless, because I don’t remember them or the answers. I have not had a lucid dream since then and I don’t even recall any dreams since then either.
I’m just wondering if anyone has any insight into what kind of state I am in and how to start dreaming again. I’m open minded, so I’m not going to dismiss any responses.
Hi Wasure, welcome!
It sounds to me like you had a WILD kind of experience (the vibrations and the rollercoaster like feeling).
It’s quite usual to not remember (clearly) any answers or questions from dreams. You do seem to have recalled a few bits though so that’s always nice.
As for your question about what state you are in, idk what exactly do you mean. As for how to start dreaming…. Just close your eyes and sleep? And keep a DJ to help your recall. As for how to become lucid, well maybe Quest for Lucidity > Knowledge Base can help you there, there are quite a few tutorials to get started
Wow such a unique story! And I assume it’s not usual for you to go without any dream recall for months?
What feelings did the dream leave you with? Just wondering if your subconscious might have a reason for perhaps blocking dream recall after that experience… like maybe confusion, disappointment, fear, disillusioned..?
Try dreaming with the intention of curiosity and willingness to learn. When encountering ‚entities’ that seem supernatural, spiritual, or „fake” its best to ask them directly what purpose they’re here for.
Emotion is the key in these encounters. You felt that the entity was a ‚he’ because both of your presences interacted. In other words, both of you transmitted a ‚signal’ and both of you ‚received’ it, said transmission being Emotion. If dreaming with this sort of approach works, let us know! It would also help to identify if you’re being blocked from dreaming by something as well, just as Night-Owl above me asked.
If you FEEL like you need to ask questions, thats what will happen etc. The real question is how do you enter this state at will, and sadly I do not have the answer. From my personal experience, you never really get to choose, and are more chosen (based on the transmitter / receiver idea). I believe Astral projection and Lucid dreaming is a skill that requires cultivation, allowing you to ‚mess’ and explore your inner self. As to the question of „what state was I in?” I’d answer with yes! you have communed with your higher self.
The rollercoaster ride and feeling as if you’re physically in a space, looking out into it is a very common phenomenon described by many who have had spiritual or psychedelic experiences. So do with that what you will.
Everything being said, only you can know what happens inside of your mind, so practice healthy skepticism, don’t take my (or others) word as absolute truth and make use of information that makes sense to you. I’m basically trying to say that a journey is individual, you’re on your own in your mind .
