Strange way to WILD

I have been using the WILD method for quite a few months as described in the guide but in the last two nights I tried it differently.
First of all, I completely disliked waking up in the middle of the night just to try to have lucid dreams, so I decided to try it when I normally go to bed in the evening.
I used a cd with rainfall to help me focus on my consciousness (w/o earphones). Then I got to work. After ~20min my body started to feel really heavy but I have not entered the classical sleep paralysis. Also, there was no hypnagogia at all. After another 10min the cd-player I was listening at started to skip the track. Then I started to hear birds singing, as the rain would have ended and the sun raised, but in the actual track there was only the rainfall. So I realized that I must be dreaming or something like that, even though I was still feeling my body, my consciousness was as real as IRL and there was no specific event to tell me that I crossed “over” (like many described as being pulled), seemed like I was still trying to fall asleep but the track on the cd-player said otherwise.
To make sure that I’m not actually waking up, I haven’t opened the eyes, but imagine myself being really easy and starting to flow. And it worked. I got up of my bed and started to make kind of a log of the places and what I want to do. In the room it was still dark and I could see the clock counting every second correctly. Then, something or someone pulled up my hand so hard that it actually hurt. I could not see what it was, because I didn’t wanted to be disrupted from what I have planned so I continued like nothing happened. The strange thing is that when I woke up my arm still hurt and discovered there was actually a bruise shaping exactly as that “thing” pulled me (fingerprint or whatever). It was not there when I went to sleep and also there is a very little chance of getting hurt in one of my bed’s objects. Is the first it happens to me and I believe is somewhat connected with the way I used this new WILD method and I’m not sure whether to continue using it or not. I also used it last night and had no problem.

Perhaps an OOBE?

I experianced something similar the other night, except without the bruise. Although I dont think it’s true, my explanation was I was going into a mixture between a WILD and an OBE.

Maybe my muscles have tightened so hard that the bruise could be a result of this. My brain is acting quite strange when I try to sleep consciously. It is like he knows I’m still waken up and when I start loosing control over my body, it starts to make my muscle tighten, like I would be pinched which is pretty nasty but I believe that my brain would give up on this sooner or later.
I knew it was an OOBE then went into the dreamworld, but the actual question it was if I can continue using this way to WILD without problems.

Well, You could, why not?
You said you used it again and you had no problems.

Because this experience with the bruise came when I first used WILD this way and I thought it may be related to it. I don’t want “next time” someone or something to cut one of my fingers and the next day to wake up without it (I mean not feeling it, not to be really cut  )

I saw that WILD without the pre-sleep of 5-6 hours is completely different from the classical one, both in the way it is induced and the way dreamworld reacts to my presence.

I don’t think this method caused the bruise.Usually when you hit something IRL, it happens in the dream too.

And btw, it’s impossible to be crippled in the dream.

What if the dream was about you being crippled, or you became lucid and controlled your dream to be crippled? (Just in case you wanted to see what it was like  )

Maybe it is possible to have hit something IRL, but the bruise has the exact shape of a fingerprint, that is what it freaks me out
Maybe I struggled my hand myself, that would be the only explanation then

I also had some experiences with some other nasty things before, like being shot or killed with a knife and even if sometimes continued to have the same feeling after waking up it never actually had any impact on my real body.

That may not actually be your muscles tightening but a sensation felt, similar to the ones at this link: ld4all.com/guide.html#frames … igns.shtml

(For some reason the URL thing isnt working… That or I dont know how to work it… :content: )

Believe me, you wouldn’t be crippled when you wake up.
I mean, even if you would, that means you would die IRL when you die in your dreams.I died many times in the dream, but look at me, I’m still alive(i think so  )

I have made some combination with the techniques 2 nights before. I used my way to WILD + MILD + WBTB. The result was simply explosive. That night I had at least 4 LD’s (maybe more but 4 I remember perfectly) with high lucidity and 2 OOBE’s that I also can remember perfecly. When I went to sleep using the WILD technique, before I went into the OOBE state, I had a very powerful hearing of glass being broken, I mean it very powerful, like an entire building made of glass was collapasing. In my third LD that night, I met a strange creature. It may be related to the crossroads but I may be wrong. It’s skin was kind of grey-blue, human shape but without clothes, hair, more like a puppet, he had some strange marks on his skin, like small yellow-white eyes (these were not actually eyes but had the shape of), he would not speak too much and he had the power to transform himself into a specific person. In that particular LD I remembered that sound before falling asleep to i asked this creature what was that and it gave me a simple answer without explanations, saying that I have broken the first seal (if somebody ever heard about something like that let me know because this is the only thing I’ve got so far and I can’t understand anything). I said that it may be related to crossroads because I asked him if I could get into somebody else’s dream (I also told him the person in which dream I wanted to go) and he said that he could help me but, in the end, I don’t actually need him to do that.
Last night I thought that I should use just WILD because LD’ing is fun but it was too much that night. I had again at least 3 LD’s and 1 OOBE in less that 2 hours, between 2 and 4 am. I don’t remember eating something particular these days (because I heard that substances like DHA or Omega-3 could give a nice boost in LD’ing) so I still believe it is something related to that “first seal”, whatever it may that mean.

Hello

a few comments

firstly, I suggest you don’t bother yourself with what you did or didn’t experience such as a ‘sign’ of crossing. It’s different for every person. The same goes for hypnagogic . The things you heard are hypnagogic… Because they aren’t physical. It doesn’t have to be visual . It depends on your relationship with your senses.

About the bruise
there was a person , he was shown a metal that is being burned in fire and then someone touched the piece of metal to his neck. In reality, they replaced the metals for a cold one but he has built it up so strongly in his mind that he still experienced a painful burn from it. The power of expectation.

Maybe it wasn’t like that though… maybe you did just do it with your other hand. In any case, I don’t see how worrying about it will do you any good. You won’t cut yourself, trust me. Things don’t just happen. Whatever you do, YOU do. Consciously or subconsciously. And you’re not going to seriously hurt yourself.

I’m quite curious, are you still practicing WILD before going to bed ? That’s probably the hardest time to do it, since your body is wide awake while your mind is demanding sleep. Ideally, you should find a time when your body is incredibly relaxed and your mind is aware and alert. Such as in the morning after washing your face and moving around for a couple of minutes or so…

But of course , whatever works for you!
Have fun with your adventures

Yes, I’m still using my way to WILD, before going to bed. I believe my body is never wide awake  , anyway, my senses over my body start to fade in less than 5 minutes after going to bed. The problem is that I don’t know when I actually started to dream. Those sounds where a special case because usually there is nothing that tells me that I actually started dreaming.
Using this way to WILD also makes me use the classical WILD 2-3 times a night because if I start the night with WILD, I automatically wake up once in 3 hours or so (without any kind of alarm or anything else). It’s not WBTB, because I don’t wake up, I just realise I’m in bed, I start again the rainfall record and do WILD again. WILD during the night is, of course, faster, I would say that in a maximum of 10 minutes I start to dream or an OOBE. Waking up quite often during the night it is not tiring at all.

Most of the time, hypnagogia is totally missing, the strange feeling of being pushed or pulled is also completely missing, so the only way to test that I’m not awake anymore is, when I believe it is the time, to move one hand to my nose and see if I can still breathe. I get it about 4 out of 5 times correctly.
I believe last night I had the first true OOBE experience. I was in my bed trying to WILD and thinking about what I should do in the dream. Then I had a strong feeling of scratching my nose. I moved my hand to it but it was like it got out of my real hand. Then, I slowly got my other parts of my body out of my real body, then got out of my bed. The feeling was really strange as I could feel both bodies. I went out through the wall. My “special” powers were completely missing and even though outside it was pretty cold because of the storm I don’t remember feeling anything. I took a little walk around the house while still feeling both bodies. I looked at my hands and they were kind of glowing, not actually a lightbulb but I could see them very clear even if outside it was very dark. My house’s doors are all with semitransparent glass. I was outside and I saw though the entrance’s door someone moving around the stairs. I felt it was the same “genre” as mine but I also started to fear, so I’ve been strongly pulled back to my body. It is not the first time when I saw that “being” around those stairs so I started to believe there really is something. I really don’t think it wants to hurt me but when I see it I start to fear, let’s say, from the instinct. I’m still new to this, though
I’m sorry I’m not making my own dream journal but more than 60% of my dreams have personal content that I don’t want to be wide known. Usually my dreams are connected to each other so I believe it would not make sense to post only those 40% of my dreams which don’t have any logical relationships.
Last night I had 8 LD’s (2 fake ND’s, I was lucid but I followed the storyline my head has prepared) and 1 OOBE, I believe soon I will start to live more in the dreamworld than IRL. Since that “glass braking” sound I really started to have lots of dreams during a night. Maybe I also had a lot before, but now I can remember clearly almost all of them.

Two strange things are still happening, even though the dreams remembered start to vanish again:

  1. Is it normal to wake up during the night quite often by myself, and from what I felt I could say I wake up after every REM phase?
  2. For 3 times, I had “dreams?” in which I was looking deep in my eyes (once) and somebody else’s (the other two times) and I had a really strange feeling, like I was possessing myself or “them”. Also, in my dreams, I started to action during the nights, like my dreamworld is trying to perfectly copy the RL, even remember that I only dream at night. This wouldn’t be a problem but when I’m near a street’s light and I look at the shadows it creates over objects (buildings, bushes etc.) I have that strange feeling that freaks me out, like I would be seeing the devil itself. The ones who had such kind of feeling would understand. I could say I got kind of accoustomed to it but it still had that element of surprise. This only applies to some of the dreams when, even though I am lucid, I cannot do supernatural things, it feels like I am replaying a memory and I am not allowed to change it.
