The age of the universe, according to different beliefs

what if i already know how old the universe is, im christian amd it says god created the universe only a few days before humans, the bible also says the ancestery, how long each person in from adam going right down to the last peole in the bible and what age they had children, people also know when the bible ends, so they can figure out that god created the universe about 10000 years ago, im just stating a fact and wcan still do the challenge so dont worry about it though

Im sorry, were full, you may join LD-challenge 18

And Daniel, noone knows the exact age of universe, but its much older than 10000 years :silent: its fun to find out the real age :yay:

sorry ghostie but im christian and according to the bible it is about 10000 years old

daniel i’d read it more carefully because the bible says it’s over 2 billion years old

Split from the lucid challenge topic. Philosophical discussions belong here, not in lucid adventures. :siiw:

Personally, i believe that the story of creation in the bible is a beautiful metaphor for the way life evolved. One theory doesn’t necessarily exclude the other.

I talked to the Bishop of the Chicago area about this. He said exactly that. The the book of GENESIS and such are simply a metaphor. Back then, BEFORE (wo)mankind, how long was a day? Was a day 24 hours. Was an hour 60 minutes? etc etc… We created time to organize life. God did not create it. Does that help you understand a bit more?

the Bible is a bunch of people compiling a deck of playing cards with pictures and stories upon them,

and they throw you this deck
and you shuffle and pick and choose from it
sometimes you get a scary card and you feel very bad
and people go to war and fight and hurt and judge and hate each other

sometimes you get a lovey dovey groovy card and you become a good person ,

heaven and hell are contained within the Bible because they were placed there,

so, religion is using the cards you are given
and spirituality is using your own.

careful study of the Bible will show you that you should be very skeptical of… the Bible.

also, imagine a roadmap to Atlantis, at one time it was very good, with time it got less and less needed, now Atlantis is gone ,

in this way, do not expect to see that Jesus is NOT already here, you will learn from everywhere, and everyone,
there is only so much relevance this book can hold NOW ,

and most of it is in lieu of either understanding that present times we are in ,
or in basic moral/spiritual guidance in the form of asking deliberate questions.
