the BIG "Hi, I'm new here!" topic part 60

hey mars, great to see you on the forums  welcome!

:welcome: mars to the forum :cool_laugh:

I recognise you from the chat

hello everyone! I’m new here. (the 'h’on my keyboard’s busted so no capital h’s…(-_-)

I’ve been studying LD’s for some time now and I have a question about a dream I had.
This was not a LD nor a regular dream(for me).
I dreamed about a rope-bridge collapsing, to put it simply. It was a very intense, vivid dream, and at some part I almost became lucid. I got trapped in a deep hole filled with flower like powder, and thought I would suffocate. But that didn’t happen, so I realized I could do anything I wanted, but never fully realizing I was dreaming.
Now here’s the thing, I told my friend about it the day after. Then he went home for supper, and after that he called me about a news article on tv, stating a bridge had collapsed in Peru. So I checked it out of course, thinking that somehow I’ve dreamt the future. Because I’m sceptic about this sorta thing I looked up the timezone of Peru and noticed that it’s a few hours earlier(6/7) than my local time zone (+1 GMT). I’ve also studied the collective consciousness theory, and I’m asking if this could be the case here. Or it could just be coincidence.
has anyone here had a similar experience like this? Or can anybody clarify my experience somehow? Thanks in advance

p.s here’s a link to the incident I referred to: reuters.com/article/worldNew … 1J20090414

Sorry for the long post.

:welcome: Siger to ld4all

Its sad that a lot of people died of the collapse, but congrats on the LD  I hope youll like your time here

Good evening Dreamers!

I have been around for exactly 11 days on the IRC now and Ghostie was so friendly to guide me to the forums.

So, I’m Silox` or just Tom. I’m a 17-year old boy living in Bruges, Belgium. I go to school in Bruges and I live in Bruges (that’s … logical?). Next year I’m thinking of studying in Gent, Informatics probably.

In my daily life I spend my time with studying, chatting, gaming and programming. I’m a beginning programmer with knowledge of websites, databases and small programs.

I started to read about LD a few months ago. After one great and very intense dream I started to read about dreams, the human mind and eventually Lucid Dreaming. The first thing that attracted me was that it is scientifically proven as I was a bit skeptic in the beginning. I started to work on DR and I started to keep a DJ. This has helped me a lot to remember my dreams. I remember about 1 dream (sometimes more, sometimes none) a night. I was planning to start on the LD part in the next vacation but I decided to do it earlier. So here I am.

I’m practicing WILD every night. I know that it would be very unlikely to induce a LD through WILD at normal bedtime, but someone (Omkar) advised me to train on the drifting phases of it.

I never had a LD. I remember myself having some FA’s in my childhood but not in the past 5 years. But I’m training on it and I hope to have one soon… If I do; I’ll shout it over IRC

Well, I gonna get some sleep now, ciao!

:welcome: Silox to ld4all, Im glad you decided to sign up here

Well, youre welcome :content: its the least I could do

Good luck getting an LD :cool_laugh:

Welcome Siger and Silox!
Siger, if I were were you, I would have thought of a coincidence, since the dream was too vague; but it’s just me
Silox, WILD is better used with WBTB or before afternoon naps; I would suggest breathing/relaxation exercises and/or meditation as intermediate steps, as they make the transition into sleep so much smoother ^^

hey im toxic.

I just recently learned about being lucid in dreams yesterday and am extremely surprised that I haven’t heard of it before. I don’t remember having any lucid dreams, but then again that could just be my lack of remembering dreams. To help with this, I did my first entry in a dream journal this morning and hope it helps me.

I’ve read through this site’s guide on lucid dreaming and am excited for my first lucid dream, whenever it comes. Although, I have that little feeling that it won’t work for me even though it supposedly works for everyone. Wish me luck!

:welcome: toxic to ld4all :grouphug: if you want to improve your DR you should try Spiders experiment:wink: it has helped many with poor DR

/me wishes toxic a good first LD :content:

:content: hi, im new here, but i have had an account on lucidipedia for almost a year. i found out about lucid dreaming a year ago, and, being a natural rememberer of dreams, was hooked  i have had pretty good success with lucid dreaming, and want to further develop my skills (and maybe for once have a successful WILD  )

Hello there, fellas!

I’m Simon, a 17 year old male from Sweden. I don’t do much in the days. This here computer takes up most of my time. And with that comes:

 • Chatting,
 • Random researching to gain the knowledge I lost when skipping school,
 • Forum-going,
 • Gaming,
 • Music listening,

etc…

I also spend a great deal of time thinking. I’d like to write a book one of these days.

And for something completely different: Movies. My God. I love movies. My favorite genre is probably thriller. But I do enjoy a good sci-fi flick like Stargate.

As for music, my favorite genre is - without the slightest doubt - heavy metal. Or more specifically, its sub-genre Melodic Death Metal (like Scar Symmetry). That, and Progressive Metal, I suppose. (Opeth, Gojira, Cynic… yum yum.) But I do enjoy plain old heavy metal bands such as Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and Dio as well.

Anyway, for something more related, I found out about this whole thing just today, but I have previously had LDs several times – without knowing they were even called anything…

I’m hoping to acheive one thang, and one thang only: to be able to manipulate my dreams – without a problem! That is, learning how to enter an LD, being able to do what I really want, and most importantly: to maintain it (this is a thing I’ve had some trouble with - it really likes to fade away). Good enough goal? Enough reason to be here? Good.

Happy to be a part of the dreaming-community, anyway! Looking forward to spending some time here. And to sleep, now that I have some newly-gained knowledge.

:welcome: goog10 and Ayrecca to ld4all

So fun, there are some other swedes in this forum as well

I hope you both have great time in the forum :colgate:

Welcome goog10 and Ayrecca! Hope ypu will find the community friendly and helpful, don’t forget to look at the knowledgse base guides, the stickied topics, or asking if you need any more directions ^^

Thanks for the warm welcome, guys!

Hello every one i have been surfing this site for quite a while, so when i have had two lucid dreams i decided to join and share about them. As you can see i am brand-brand new and my name is Metoo507. Thanks and i hope i have fun!

hi, metoo507  welcome! I hope you have lots of fun here with us :content:

And welcome to everyone else I missed

Hi, i’ve registered here a while ago but i never posted in this topic. Today, i finally got myself to do it. Okayy, umm… i’ve got absolutely no experience in lucid dreaming, and i can’t get myself to remember my dreams and write them down. that’s where it goes wrong, at the start. just as a lot of other people here i’ve been thinking about what i would do in a dream, and i’m full of ideas. now i’m just gonna post some topics
to boost my post rate
to get some help with dreaming

Welcome {Redhead}! Don’t worry, most people here started with no LD ability and poor DR (I was one of them), and went just fine. Remeber LD’ing is easy if you believe it is.
Also, I’ll suggest to check the guides in the Knowledge base and the BIG topics before posting any new thread, as many of your questions may already be answered.

Hi, my nickname is Low. I’m from Norway. I heard about LD yesterday, and i thought it sounded cool. This night i used the techniques to remember my dreams, and it worked pretty well. i wrote journal on my Computer, and will continue with that. I’ll try to have a lucid dream tonight. I know, the changes aren’t big to make it the second night. But combining 4 methods, I’d like to give it a try. i would be very happy for any advice.

-Low

Welcome Low
and the biggest advice I can give you is, take it easy. Lucid dreaming will be really easy if you believe it so, especially at an age like yours, so be confident and you’ll get results in no time. ^^
