flyersman, I merged your topic into The Big Shared Dreaming Topic
Some people think it’s possible to shared dream, but there are a lot of people who aren’t sure about it. You can at least try to have a shared lucid dream. Even if it’s not really a shared dream that doesn’t mean it can’t be fun to do.
You don’t have to be in the same room in waking life, as lons as you sleep at the same time. It’s better if both know about it, but I’ve seen people saying they had a shared dream after they had the dream. They never intended to do it.
You just have to meet each other in the dream, a good planning for this can be useful
ive had two accidental shared dreams. one with my exgirlfriend while we were still together and one with a friend of mine while a few of us were camping for my birthday.
when asking them both what their dreams were i was shocked to find that they had exactly the same dream.
when i dream i often see friends i know in the physical world, but those two dreams i was sure it was realy them. it kinda felt different, i just knew it was them.
that was 3 years ago and i havent experienced it since.
Hi, just wanted to say that I’ll attempt to SD with a friend of mine tonight.
He’s the only friend that I share dreams with, and he has a lot of lucid dreams and nightmares. I told him how he could turn nightmares into LDs, and it worked perfectly for him
So I hope that this will work too. We’ve agreed where we’ll meet each other, and we have a just-in-case secret password (just for fun, we know how your sub-conscious can fool you).
And we will get to bed about the same time and focus on our meeting spot
Is there something else we should do? Or have we prepared ourselves in the best possible way?
So, me and a friend are into lucid dreaming. We’re not quite at the level of lucid at will. I’m not very good, but I’m better than him. So, we’ve decided, since we’re not that far apart in skill, work at lucidity together, and learn to share dreams. Do we need to get really good at LDing to share dreams? Has any research been done on sharing dreams, or are we going to be the first to experiment with it?
Thanks, hopefully we’re successful enough to start official experiments on this site in the experiments. Some other people here with LD Pals can help with this too. Keep in mind, though, He and I are novice LDers, so it might take a while. I believe that maybe in a secret, usually untouched part of our mind is so powerful, it may be capable of telepathy-type events. Maybe exploring this part in dreams can unlock some of its power.
That’s just my thoughts though, I’m probly WAY off the mark.
As moogle said, ND’s are said to be possibly shared too. So it would be a good thing that you and your friend compare your DJ’s.
There are so few reports about shared dreaming in LD’ing litterature and real life that I think that even parapyschologists - I mean serious ones - don’t believe in this possibility. So there has not been any parapyschological research about it. If we can consider this as a research, there is the Lucid Crossroads attempt to create a shared dreaming platform. As far as I know, it has not a big success.
In 3 years, I just remember 2 shared dreams reports which looked like interesting on LD’ing forums. It was in ND’s and it was only the dream content that was shared.
It sounds like you have more odds to get a SD if it’s with someone you like very much, for instance a friend or someone from your family. Good luck in your attempt!
well my memory the dreams themselves is a bit a bit fuzzy but i remember the bits where i SDed.
the 1st one was where I was plugging my glow juggling balls into the charger when i realized i had to many to plug in and not enough time to do it in. just as i thoght that the door opened and my girlfriend at the time came in and started helping me.
we sat there for a while just plugging my juggling balls into the chargers, then i woke up. i asked her what her dream was about. she told me and for a bit was thinking that we hadnt SDed but when she explained the plugging in of juggling balls i realized that we had been in the same dream.
the other SD i had was when i was camping in some sand dunes for my birthday.
in the dream there were three of us sat in the sand dunes we were camping in. me, my friend luke and my friend sarah.
my friend sarah pulls out a bottle of liquid LSD and starts dripping it on her tongue and is trying to make me and my other friend have some. the rest of the dream was spent with us running away from sarah and the bottle of liquid LSD.
the next morning i explained my dram and my friend luke was in shock because he had had the exact same dream. we asked sarah bu she said she couldnt remember her dream.
i have recently found out my friend luke can LD and has been since he can remember (hes on LD4ALL as lucasjoe). do u think this could b something to do with it?
Very interesting. I find Shared dreams quite astounishing because a lot of person on the board claim to have done it once but again it could be all lies.
I think one of the reasons why shared dreams have been thought to be impossible over long distances is quite possibly the time factor. On the other side of the planet people don’t have the same sleep schedule as you do. It would take a lot of compromise and constant updated planning to pull that off! I don’t know many people who have the time or the patience for that.
Well we can assume that SD’s somehow relate to the belief in universal consciousness…they share similarities.
Now, I really dont know whether it exists or not. However, my sister and I do recall certain dreams/FM’s that are very distinct and we have no idea where they came from. So…its quite weird. I’m sure theres some explanation out there.
I told a friend of mine about LD’s and he told me he has them all the time ,but he can’t control them. I told him how then we started talking about shared dreaming.
He came up with the idea of him searching for me in his dreams and to find me ,but not as a DC , but as a dreamer.
Can this actually work?
I have had no success personally, I guess it boils down to a question of whether or not we are somehow “connected” when we dream or whether dreams are just within our brain internally.
Moved from the BIG “An Account of Shared Dreams” topic to this thread. In the first post of the BIG “An Account of Shared Dreams” topic, it’s said: “Only dreams in which you have a real reason to believe it was a shared dream may be posted in here – a smart or lifelike dream character is not considered a shared dream”.
A while ago i had a dream i was walking with my mate and we ended up in some strange place and i realised i was dreaming. My friend said how did we end up here n i was like, its coz were dreaming! In the dream i thought it was shared because we both knew we were dreaming but when i mentioned the dream to him he knew nothing about it.
