There’s no point in fearing such things, as the old hag is an illusion, just as all the rest is. People can get scared of all the weird sensations, but as long as they’re harmless, it can be exciting and even funny in a way 
Not to mention a LD is something that can be completely unrelated from the old hag and the process of falling asleep in general, you just have to realize it’s a dream while you’re in one
