Just something thats been bugging me
normaly when i attempt to WILD it fails and i fall asleep, but once i got this Numbness and i could feel myself slipping away, then my heart starts beating like crazy and i snap myself out of it. Well last night ,it was about 4 in the morning, i attempted to WILD again and i found it really easy to get to that stage again the first time my heart beated madly i tried to calm myself but failed and lost it but i tried again i got to that stage and i got vibrations in my arms (thats never happend before) and started to get a distorted sound but i get this feeling that my eyes are open a little and i try to close them fully but the’re not open and the movement snapped me out of it the third time i fell asleep
can anyone help me get past this phase before you say “try calming yourself” or “watch the HI passively” i’ve tried those.
Well, I’m still new to this but I would recommend you take deep breaths when your heart starts beating raidly or even to stop breathing for a minute. The numbness might have something to do with the rapid heart beats, your body trying to stop it from becoming numb, as you probably know, when your foot is asleep, it tickles to try and move it.
Hope this helped somewhat…
The deep breaths would only break the transitions, the body must be left alone after a while or any signal would wake it up again. The best thing would just forget you have a body
but I know it may not be for everyone.
If the HI doesn’t work, just distract yourself somehow, probably a mantra like “I’m dreaming”, mentally repeated, would have a nice effect, that and sway your attention, focusing it elsewhere, maybe on some peaceful thought, try that next time, and of course, try to relax yourself while doing this
Thanks for the advice, now the only thing i need to worry about is the HI trick on my eyes, it gets really light at the bottem of my eyes which makes me think my eyes are open a little, which causes me to open my eyes a little or try to close them when the’re not open.
With practice one learns that what he sees is not always what the eyes do. ![]()
I deal with HI by actually visualizing or daydreaming about whatever dream scenario I want to be in (or just whatever comes to mind) while repeating the mantra tosxy mentioned. It’s all about staying aware as your imagination starts to turn into reality.
