Thinking about stoping to try lucid dreaming.

I’ve been trying LD for atleast 1’5 month. I havn’t had any luck.
I don’t try WBTB+WILD since it is pretty much impossible for me to go asleep while doing something (counting, imagining things, you know).
Also, I am doing less and less reality checks nowadays, simply forgetting about them.

Any tips?

YOu’re not supposed to fall asleep while doing WILD.

I have one tiny little tip:

DON’T GIVE UP!

I know it sucks not getting results. Just remember that some people take much longer to have their first LD, years even. Try to get every dream or dream experience (such as HI, SP, pre-LD’s, etc) and focus on that. When I was first trying to WILD, for example, I would usually just fall asleep. I would try to be happy just for getting closer.

I also suggest you do try WBTB+WILD. First because WBTB itself increases the chances you have a LD. For me at least, just trying to WILD a bit (even if I fall asleep or give up) increases my awareness. I’ve had many DILD’s after failed WILD attempts. :content: Maybe you can try to do the techniques (and RC’s and writing dreams down) just for what they are. Don’t focus to much on having a LD, just… well, try to have fun and don’t get to sad if you don’t get a LD, because eventually you will.

Well, I don’t know how much you are interested in LD’ing. I mean, I’m not sure if you just think it would be cool or if you think it would be increadible! You can focus on all the things you want to do in a LD or read through some cool dreams here in the DJ part of the forum for motivation…

Hope I could help on getting you a bit more motivated.

Aww, hang in there. Some nights I forget entirely about dreaming, and others all I can manage is to set an intention before I fall asleep. But I believe that every action I take is one more little step toward becoming a proficient lucid dreamer. You can do it too!

Find a reason for you to get interested in it again. You won’t achieve lucidity unless you really want to, get motivated.

Forget about it for a week. Don’t enter LD site, don’t think of it. Destroy your DR if necessary.

After seven days, remind in why you wanted to lucid dream. Then, remind in how fun it is. Then get back To LD-ing!

(Btw, if during the week you get an extraordinary dream, use it as a motivator, but don’t try to dream of anything, as if you have never seen this site)

Trying to LD can become too much of a obsession, so stopping for a while may not be such a bad thing. I think as long as the will to have LDs is somewhere in the back of your mind, parts of your brain will still try subconsciously. I have lapsed with all attempts for the last few months, and have found myself having a decent number of LDs without any effort, which never happened before I first became interested in LDing.
At some point in the future you will probably feel like renewing your attempts.

I took like, a 2 week break. (Maybe because I was afraid of SP :bored: )
