I have had this idea that i think is rather cool, but i’ll get your opinions on it.
Now, one thing i thought when i first heard of Lucid Dreaming was "Cool! i can live out " Be it gaining magical powers or a scene from your favorite book or something.
Now, thinking more about this i realize: being lucid means you have control over what’s going on, and therefore you dictate what is going to happen. In a normal dream that is not the case
But, knowing that it is just a dream can kinda lessen the effect of the dream.
This is kind of hard to explain
What i mean is that there ARE some situations where it would be better not to know you are dreaming. Wouldn’t it be awesome to wake up and realize “wow, i have magic powers!” or something? Now, if you were lucid, it would be like “yeah i can do whatever i want, it’s a dream…” but if you were NOT lucid you would be like “WOAH!”
So you would get more emotion. Now some may consider this perhaps a waste of lucidity, but i devised a method. I can’t really test it yet and there are key steps missing.
Ok so what i thought is you could CREATE a dream while you are lucid, like make a whoile scenario, and then lose lucidity so you can enjoy it with the entire range of emotions you would get if it were actually happening.
Now, to create the dream i thought of the easiest and most fun method: be the director of a movie, but instead of the movie, it’s a dream!
Create the whole dream as the dream director. Get DCs to act and make sure everyhting is in order. not only does this accomplish the task, but it should prove to be downright fun!
Now here’s the hard part that i can’t figure out. You need to somehow lose lucidity and, with it, memory of before when you created it.
Hopefully that memory will come back when you wake up.
Anyway, is this a cool idea or a waste of lucidity?
I think of the possibilities. I can think of a few things lol
but since harry potter just came out, here’s a cool example
wouldn’t it be great to get a letter saying you can actually go to hogwarts? but the key is, you wouldn’t know that it was all a dream, so at the time, you would be THRILLED! (i know i would)
. It’d be cool to live an alternate life without the whole “This isn’t real” thing nagging at you the whole time.
