so last night I think I managed to achieve lucidity, I used MILD and remember being in a dream outside the local shop in my village. however it was very fuzzy so i said increase lucidity loudly to make it more clear. after this I tried walking around and using several of the powers like flying, changeing scenery even just moving a rock on the ground. and was unable to do any of these, so i gave up and went for a wander. I lost lucidity slightly after and woke up later. was I lucid and is any of this normal for a begginer at Lucid dreaming?
Yes I would say you were lucid. Congrats!
Dream control is mainly a matter of practice and it’s already very good that you didn’t wake up immediatly after you realized that you are dreaming. Take a look around, there are some really nice guides about dream control in the Knowledge Base. Just try again in your next LD, and be confident that whatever you want to do will work.
Ok then well thats great i guess, it was weird because i wasnt at all exited or shocked about knowing i was dreaming. i just got on with it however i think i was so calm about it i lost lucidity. Is there a way to stop that happening? do i need to keep reminding myself im dreaming?
Loosing lucidity is often the result of too much immersion into the dream world and thus forgetting that you are dreaming. Especially when you don’t have any goals in your mind, that’s why it’s so important to set yourself LD goals.
So yes, reminding yourself that you’re dreaming is the best thing you can do. There are many ways of doing this, for example doing RC’s, saying to yourself “I’m dreaming”,…
When you just want to wander around in the dreamscape, it’s probably the best to pay attention to what’s happening around you and what’s odd about this, so try to spot the DS in your LD (which can also be very funny).
I have to do that all the time, whenever scenery changes or I change something I have to do RC to remind myself that I’m dreaming…
I agree. You have to accept that gaining lucidity is divided in few steps that don’t have direct links to each others yet they have… [I know how that sounds
]
Firstly you have to able to remember your dreams. Second you need to be able to induce LD and then you can practice how to act how to react in LD.
BUT congrats on your LD, you done it. Just be positive about everything and expect more lucid dreams… Keep goals and achieve them… Easy as that!
Yes, you were lucid. Regardless of the amount of power you have, the mere fact that you knew you were dreaming classifies this as a lucid dream. Over the course of time, you’ll be able to develop your powers further. I remember at first, I could only jump like 20 feet in the air, then 40, then 100 and then I could FINALLY fly at a moderate speed and now I can fly almost as fast as a jet. The specific powers you work on developing will be the ones you get the fastest. For example, I never use telekinesis on lucid dreams, so I still can’t move objects by thought.
However, I can control any dream character’s thoughts and make them do whatever I want by placing my hand on their forehead. I can also throw fireballs. Took me a while to develop THAT one.
As soon as I am back at the point of having 2 to 3 lucid dreams a night, I am going to start developing the ability to shapeshift into different creatures as well as taking direct possession of dream character’s bodies.
