my favourite has got to be the one where you plug your nose and breathe through your fingers, just because it’s such a cool feeling to be breathing through your fingers! I also use the clock RC a lot.
I mostly will things around me to behave as they would in a dream, and if the world bends to my will, I must be dreaming!
i just pinch my nose
My most reliable method is pinching my nose, but I look for more subtle RCs so people in RL don’t think Im crazy (I still havn’t experianced much LDing so I am trying to simply do RC’s as much as possibal during the day, so far not very bountiful results)
Living concious…
As much as possible asking yourself the following questions:
Where am i?
What am i doing?
Where were i?
Where am i going?
I am sorry I don’t understand was that last post refrenced to me or is it just your favorite RC
Dont get 3rd question- where were I???- Do you mean where have I been or Where was I?
If english is a second language I apologize for hassaling
Mines the nose RC.
Its easy, and you can’t make a mistake.
personally i love one i made up which i bet others do also, anyways you just think that somethings going to happen and if it happens then your dreaming. i like to do it with pictures like, “this picture will come to life/vanish etc”
During the day I only use the look-at-your-nose RC and whenever someone mentions dreaming (or if I thought of it) I just look around intently at my surroundings. (ex: one time I gained Lucidity completely randomly by seeing/eating a waffle that had “LD” written on it in bold letters)
The second one has served me well but here are some random appearances of RCs in my dreams:
-
My most recent LD (interrupted by an alarm clock… ) started when I was looking at a clock and the hand was going backwards.
-
In another dream I could breath while underwater AND with my hand over my nose. (but I had grown gills in the dream so I ignored it… )
looks over private DJ
- Do dogs flying off of buildings count?
My favorite reality check is the light switch. But ever since I have done the lightswitch check by habit, I no longer have dreams where I’m trying to turn the light on and the light doesn’t work. Which is really weird.
I mark myself as I stated in the thread just next to this that for some reason can’t be viewed. I wear a watch every day so I mark it next to my watch so that I can tell if I’m dreaming. The only rule is to make a different marking every day. you’ll out wit your mind
Once in a dream, I used the nose pinch RC looking at a mirror.
That’s the type of RC that I believe to be almost surefire, except that it’s only good in the bathroom.
My two favorites are nose pinching folloed by finger counting. I allways do both of them. I have to really focus when doing both of them, because Ive had dreams before where I cout my fingers, and Ill have six, but then I question myself that I miss counted. Ive had dreams where Ive counted my fingers three, or four times, and still didnt become lucid. So if you do a RC really focus on what you are doing.
Another fun one is to allways carry a dollar bill in your pocket, and check it every so often to see if it has changed.
My most prominent RC is the average “hand-checking” method. For the majority of my Lucid Dreams, this is how they were induced. The rainbow spectrum usually appears to flow from my body. A sort of rather intense light. I love God.
Finger counting - even toe counting - fails me all the time. After countless dreams of checking, my hands and feet appear normal whether I’m awake or asleep.
Nose-pinching hasn’t failed me yet.
i check digital clocks and try lights. i don’t really believe in it completely though, because i have been able to manipulate light in non lds and have seen clocks that don’t really change. i enjoy analyzing my choice of words here. considering that i chose the words “don’t really change” meaning there’s definitely a flaw in my understanding and of dream mechanics and how i need to think about this deeper.
My favorite is looking at digital clocks. They always display 1:58 at first in my dreams for some reason, but they change to something random when I look again. Sometimes there isn’t a clock around so I use the finger counting and it works also.
one time in a non ld i has holding a lamp and i smashed the lit bulb against something and the bulb cracked open but the light stayed on. in another non ld i actually turned on a very bright light inside a grocery store. I sometimes plug my nose and try to breathe, but that has never come up in a dream.
I like the clock one too, it gave me my first LD!(even though it lasted for a few seconds…)
lately i’ve been sticking my finger through my hand, it feels weird!
