I wanna get a list of things that makes it harder to lucid dream.
Like, things like stress, which I think is one of them, or certain foods or doing certain activities or whatever.
So what makes it more difficult to have or learn to LD?
My, I really don’t know. Of course, if you have a heavy non-vegetarian meal or go to bed with a lot of mental and emotional baggage, you cannot hope to have a lucid dream. But generally, lucid dreaming comes with regular practice. You have to work on your dream recall, learn to relax, meditate, and so on… and your dreams start getting lucid. I don’t know what makes it difficult except perhaps lack of patience, diligence, and regularity.
Hmmm… You got a good point.
Thanks
heavy non-veg meals? you sure?
Yes, having a light dinner is advised in order to let blood flow more to the brain instead of the digestive tract
Skepticism is also a big hurdle: believing you can’t LD the way (or the frequency) you want to will severely hamper your skills in the dream.
And if you can’t get to believe that you really can do whatever you’d like in your dreams, one solution is to simply stop believing. Stop judging yourself, let go of that bad thoughts, and simply go for it during the night. What’s the need to overthink it if those thoughts only bring you down? Let the worry go, and be lucid, now and in dreams.
Just like TosxyChor said : doubt is your worst enemy. Lack of knowledge also, because you will doubt when you lack the knowledge to believe, for example if you listen to people who don’t dream a lot, and tell you that LD at will is impossible.
I don’t know about sport maybe…when you go to bed after an activity you are more relaxed and then you may meditate better.
Stress and a tight schedule may stop you having LD, well from my experience I can say I LD a lot when I know I have time in the morning, otherwise, when I wake up I won’t be able to go back to sleep, I’ll just think “I have this thing to do…” and then go do it.
For meals, I don’t know. I read on this forum about Melissa Tea and B6 vitamins, so I bought them, since after all melissa is not a drug and B6 are good for people having stomach problems and who are tired. But even if I took them, my belief is that this is the knowledge I gained when I read people’s experiences and tips about LD that made me LD more since I came here !
You guys are so right. I need to stop over-thinking and doubting. I think this is the reason why I don’t have many LD’s anymore.
I don’t think there is much that you can eat that will lower chances of LD’s (except for the non-vegie meal) but I have tried lucid nutrition, like milk and cheese and mustard, which improved my DR, vividness in dreams and made me lucid a little more often.
Thank for your advice guys It’s great that I can come here to expand my knowledge on LD-ing and get rid of that Skepticism.
