sorry if this is already posted somewhere, if it is could i have the link plz
Ok well we have all had dreams (lucid and normal) with random dream characters that we have never seen before in our life.
i heard somewhere , and ive read some things , that those DC’s are actually people you’ve seen before in your life but don’t remember.
for example: that scary guy chasing you in your dream could have been , like, lets say that guy you saw walking his dog when you were around 7 years old…but you just dont remember him at all now.
Is this true ? it seems really interesting!
if so, could you ask the DC in a LD, ‘where have i seen you before IRL?’ and get a proper answer?
Well you can’t create things out of nothing, I think all DC are based of other people, some complety others might take some stuff one person and throw it on another.
Most DC are a mixture of different people who also got modified.
Plus, your DC can be a fictional character from books and movies, so you won’t be able to meet him/her in RL.
I don’t see why one would believe that. What is the basis for the claim? It seems fanciful to me. Is every dream tree based on a real tree? Why couldn’t the brain invent a person? It is certainly possible for writers of fiction to invent characters. Sure, experience is used heavily in the creative process to produce realistic characters, but that does not the same as copying.
It seems rather convenient for the person making the claim, that they are supposed to be people we do not remember, except for the ones we do remember, because it is very difficult to prove them wrong. If we investigate some character and do not find any match, it can just be said “oh, you just don’t remember this one”. And if ever some character is from a latent memory of someone, or appears to be, then you might say “see, they are all latent memories, because this one is” even though 99% of them might not be.
