I’m not an expert in WILDing but I’ve some success with it, so I’ll see if I can help you.
It depends on the person; how high your motivation is, experience, how long time it takes to go back to sleep from WBTB (WILD is waay much easier when you do the WBTB-technique, so I highly recommend tu use these two) and so on.
Again, it depends on the person. Try a month or so, and see if you come “closer” to a LD; if you get HI or Sleep Paralysis, then you’re close!
It’ll become easier for every LD you have, even if they’re FLDs, so there’s a big chance you will get it.
I do not think that you need one hour to do WILD; that’s ridiculously much time, and you’ll probably fall asleep anyway. I think it’s best to be able to fall asleep fast if you WILD, but I don’t remember exactly. So I’d guess around… 20-40 minutes? Maybe a little less.
I don’t do it every night (I have to go to school, and it’d probably mess up your sleep schedule if you don’t WBTB right), but yes, I can reach success fairly with a little patience and confidence
