Bonus Points: (Awarded at the end of each task)

Recall Points
For every dream recalled, you are awarded 10 points. There will be no difference in points for recalling a LD vs ND. You will be given 5 points for all fragments recalled. Fragment points are awarded on a per ‘night’ basis. Naps and WBTB will be counted separately, so long as the WBTB is longer than ~5 minutes intentionally awake.
Please put a link to your dream journal when you sign up. Only dreams written in you online DJ will be considered for points. Fragments will be considered regardless. If you do not have a dream journal on LD4all, start one-it is a great habit. If you wish, you may create a temporary DJ in the Dream Journal forum for this challenge.
Only dreams that you have during the course of the challenge are eligible for points. If you join the challenge after the beginning of the first task, only dreams that you have after the time you join will count. It may be a good idea to make a comment in your DJ of where your first ND Challenge dream begins.
Technique Points
Chains will be counted as returning to the same or a very similar dream. For each time you awake and return to the same or a very similar dream, you will be awarded 5 points, additional to the regular recall points. There is no explicit time limit for how long you are awake in between, so feel free to write in a DJ if you think you can still manage to return afterwards. Each additional/continuation of the dream will be counted separately from the first, and you will be awarded points on recall accordingly.
Performing a Reality Check will award you 3 points, regardless of whether or not it succeeds in making you lucid. Multiple Reality Checks performed in a short time will only be counted as one. That is, you won’t receive triple points for doing three Reality Checks in a row.
Task Points
There will be five tasks. You will have seven days for each task. Completing the current task will get you 50 points. If you complete a previous task, you will get 25 points. You can complete multiple tasks per dream.
You may also choose a personal goal, which will award 25 points upon completion. Please state your personal goal when you sign up. Once you have completed your goal, you may choose a new one.
Please note: As this challenge focuses on incubation, completing the task after becoming lucid will only award 20 points, your personal task will award 10 points, and a late task will award 10 points. This is not to penalize you for being lucid, rather it is because the ND Challenge is about dream incubation, not lucidity. You may still reattempt to complete those tasks/personal challenge in a subsequent ND for additional points.
If you feel you have completed a task or your personal goal, please state which task you have completed and when you completed it.
In order to fairly accommodate varying time zones and schedules, a dream completing a task will be counted as a current task if the dream was had in a period of sleep that began before the current task closed. For example, if you were to go to sleep for the night at 21:00, and the task closes at 23:00, completing the task will count as current. I expect this grace period to be used within reason and that you will view the next task as soon as possible without disrupting your sleep routine.
Bonus Points
At the end of each task, I may give up to 30 bonus points to each participant, based on how well you recall your dreams, and the level of detail in your dream journal entries. This is meant to reward those who improve the quality of their dream recall, in addition to the number of dreams recalled.
Changes for NDC 12
Fragments, with regards to WBTB: Fragment recall will award you points only once per night, or once per nap. If you have a significant WBTB (eg: you get up, walk around a bit, etc, and then return to bed) - and not just a wake and jot down dream notes before dozing off again - you will be eligible to earn an additional set of Fragment Recall points.
Lucid Dream Recall: Recalling LD’s will no longer be worth more points than recalling ND’s. There is now only one category for “Recalling Dreams”.
Dream Journals: You must post your dream to receive points for it. Fragments do not need to be posted.
Rewards
For winning, you will be forever recognized as the winner in the list of previous challenges. Additionally you will be eligible to be the Task Master ™ for the next NDC! You may also ask another participant or a participant of any previous NDC to co-TM with you if you like. If you do not wish to be TM of the next NDC, you may pass it on to the second place finisher, and so on down the line.

Task 1: The Sea
Task one is BYOB: Bring Your Own Boat. If you’re wondering water you supposed to be doing, you’ll sea soon enough!
Your first task is to dream of being on the sea. Maybe you’re a pirate on a ship sailing towards loot. Maybe you’re on a cruise ship, taking a well needed tropical vacation. Perhaps even you’ve taken a submarine to witness deep sea life. Whatever your mission, your quest is to be on or in the ocean. I will accept any significantly large body of water, so long as you are on or in it; simply being on the sand at the beach is not good enough.
Task 2: In the Earth
Can you dig this task? I personally think it’s pretty rocking!
Your next task is to dream of being below ground, somewhere within the Earth. Are you an archaeologist, searching a ancient cave for clues from the past? Or maybe you’re a super hero’s arch nemesis, plotting your next move a deep subterranean lair! Perhaps even you’re just some poor dwarf who was exiled from his home and are now being roped into digging a half mile deep well for a medieval town plagued with drought.
For this task, you must be under ground, in some cave, tunnel, or other rock encased cavern. For added complexity, I expect it to be of some significant depth or length. I will not count a simple motorway tunnel that you can see the exit from the entrance.
Task 3: Up in the Sky
It’s a bird, and a plane, and a man- It’s birdplaneman!
Aim high in this task, cause your goal is to be up in the sky. You could be an important businessman on a private jet, speeding to make your next deal. Or perhaps you’re a super hero, flying high above the city, on the look out for evil. Maybe even you’re a dragon rider. However you make it up there, your task is to be in the sky.
Task 4: At the Fire
Build a man a fire and he’ll be warm for the night. Set a man on fire and he’ll be warm for the rest of his life.
No wait, I think it’s supposed to be ‘teach a man to fire and he’ll have no assistants’? I don’t know, I’m not here to give life advice, I’m here to host a challenge.
This task’s challenge is to see an open flame. You can sit at a bonfire to rest up, wander a dark corridor holding a lit candle, or even watch as a a building burns down. If you’re watching a burning building, I hope you at least consider helping though.
For it to count, the flame must be a sustained (so no flashes of fire balls or explosions), open (you must see the actual flame without it being completely contained) flame. For example, a candle in a candle holder would count, but a lanternwould not.
Task 5: Befriend a DC
Making friends is easy, right?
For this task, you need to be friends with an original DC or actively become friends with one who is not original. An original DC in this case would be any who are not a real person and not a character from a book/show/movie/comic/etc. I will also accept becoming friends with any DC who you were not friends with at the beginning of the dream. As this is a much more subjective task, I will rely on your judgement of whether or not you were friends (and not just acquaintances) with your DC.
