I think a good reason to believe in reincarnation is, that at one time or another, everyone has been your mother. Who would kill their own mother?
…What?
I didn’t get it first either, but someone gave me the explanation from what Serbitar probably meant. That is that it’s a good thing to believe in reincarnation, because if we do believe in it there will come a time that everyone has been your mother. Who would kill their own mother? In other words people won’t kill other persons anymore.
Yeah exactly.
Too many flippin’ Christians around here. I can’t even find a botanica. Even harder to find herbal nature stores.
Plus not enough time…

Here’s an overview of the empirical research on reincarnation: eteponge.blogspot.com/2007/09/re … ation.html

Both counter the most common skeptical arguments.
I have lots of memories that aren’t “mine.” I know this could just be stuff my mind made up, but I like to stay open-minded about it. I definitely feel that reincarnation is plausible.

i have witnessed memories that are not my own, but they may just be other people’s lives who shared similar patterns of existing as I.

well like say you are a musician
and you get really good, you are going to sleep, or deep in meditation, and you start witnessing a collage of all these different musicians minds, seeing how they are all connected in their love and dedication
it doesn’t mean you were every single one of those people on a soul level, its more like they are soul-mates in relation to memory-perception
perception mates
another way to put it is you are in a crowd, and you notice something really wonderful and amazing that is sublime, and only maybe 12 people in the crowd notice, this links you all in a memory-chain
and you might just notice that they all notice along with you when it happens, such as something really tiny happens and you turn to look at your neighbor and you both smile, and you acknowledge non-verbally that you both noticed it and were in tune in sharing that perception, while the rest of the crowd remains oblivious
i have HEARD that Huxley experienced collective memory of humans slight edit , and looked at all their discoveries
reading Akasha you could call it.
I beleive in reincarnation. I always wonder what I will reincarnate into, it will probably give me a clue in an LD. I have never had a LD though , last night I had a dream and I tried to get my spirit guide and my symbol, I forgot to in my dream because for me it is hard to control myself in my dream , I only can in a nightmare . [/spoiler]
I believe that DNA only affects the physical functions of your body and that your conscience is always the same but just in a different body.
Hi,
Yes I do believe in reincarnation.
Also that dreams work at many levels. They can be doorways to other dimensions, other worlds, images of our past, symbolic mostly to do with stuff we are going through at the moment. The material world is so linear and limited it can be hard to think about all the possibilities dreams can lead us to.
I think part of the past life thing is about arranging things with people we know so that we can go through experiences and learn from each other.
Tibetan Buddhists say that your enemy is your greatest teacher.
I know someone I feel I have a past life link with but it doesn’t mean we have had an easy ride. Even when things have been really difficult and bad between us it has been a stimulus to me to try to understand and work on it, work on myself, because that is all I can do to try and progress on this a little. I have been forced to consider what love really is? I have to figure out what love really means, something to do with doing what is the best regardless of what my own feelings of desire are. This is really difficult!
Now that I am past the very worst of the pain and conflict (I hope!) I have started to try and work on this with dreams, after all the first connection we had was about healing mental conflicts and distress with lucid dreaming.
I have been asking my guides to help me with this in my dreams lately. I haven’t had an obvious response, but my dreams are very vivid, I look forward to every night for whatever the next dream will be and what it might tell me. Even if this is only at the level of psychoanalysis it is amazing, but I can’t help believing that it goes a lot deeper.
Even if we never resolve our difficult relationship in the present lifetime I feel sure that we are helping each other immensely in our soul pathways.
Blake said something to the effect that we must conquer hell before we can build heaven.
past lives
if we start leaning all about ours, will we have new responsibilities?
past lives
if we start leaning all about ours, will we have new responsibilities?
Well, perhaps more like becoming aware of old responsibilities if they were not resolved in the previous life!
I don’t think it is necesssary to remember the detail or much at all about our past lives except when there is something left hanging over from it, such as some karmic issue or an ongoing relationship that you are working on and have not yet resolved.
Hope this makes sense.
I believe in reincarnation. That’s one of the things I wanna look into when I learn astral projection – researching my past, future, & parallel lives. I’m going to go straight to the Akashic Records & pour over every single one of my other lives. How interesting/cool would that be? To see another person, a complete stranger, maybe even of different race & sex, and then have your spirit guide explain “That’s you”. Or what if it’s not a stranger, but someone you know & interact with everyday? Awkward. I’ll also focus on karmic patterns. You know, repairing bad relations, that stuff. I think that would bring a lot of inner peace, a lot of enlightenment. The only problem then would be, what do you do when someone says “Just be yourself”?

You are not your persona, but the sum total of what you have learnt and how you manage to deal with challenges. Like a dancer, you are your skill and not your costume.
I don’t understand how people that supposely have lucid dreams can be sceptic or atheist about reincarnation topic. I think it’s just searching in dreams the answer. That’s the thing I most want to do.
The explanations considered “proof” against reincarnation are just based on ignorance. Like the origin of souls. Or the people remembering famous past lifes and that kind of stuff. The matter of origin of souls, someone already answered to that in this topic. They just come from other dimensions, or somewhere else. Based on the infinity of the universe, that is possible. And the cases of people who remember being simples folks in a farm do exist, it’s just not on tv.
Other impressive thing is how “scientists” refuse to believe in reincarnation, but come along with other more bizarre explanations, like the DNA memory, for exemple. I just think that people who believe the brain is god are very wrong.
I do know people who remember their past lifes, and no, they were not some president or some famous.
Good luck in the quest.
I totally believe in reincarnation. I’ve had spontaneous waking memories and dreams of other times, and once I went to a preserved pioneer settlement for the first time (in this life) and felt an overwhelming and powerful sense of returning home. I still feel it when I go there - it’s only about a 6 hour drive from where I live now.
I had an incredibly vivid dream at age 19 about my spiritual stuggles in a life in ancient Egypt that tied into my spiritual path in this life at age 39, that was just way beyond coincidence.
In waking meditations, I often see the same face, or a person I recognize as the same person even across different lifetimes. I call him my guide, and he’s had various names over the years. Once I was knocked unconscious and saw him advocating for me in front of a stern female judge. That was shortly before the largest spiritual turning point in my life at age 27.
One of my biggest motivators for getting the hang of LD (and continuing to improve my recall) is to be able to have (and remember) a lucid conversation with this guide. I have never seen him in a ND that I can remember.
My community has at least one truly gifted psychic/clairvoyant, and I’m saving my pennies for a past life hypnotic regression with him. I’ll keep ya posted!
