10 points for completing your personal goal while lucid
Bonus Points: (Awarded at the end of each task)
Up to 30 points for quality of recall
Recall Points
For every normal dream recalled, you are awarded 10 points. A lucid dream will award you 12 points. You will be given 5 points for all fragments recalled. Note that this is a change from previous challenges. Fragment points are now awarded on a per ‘night’ basis. Naps will be counted separately, however a WBTB will not qualify you for addition fragment points.
Please put a link to your dream journal when you sign up. If you do not have a dream journal on LD4all, start one—it is a great habit. If you wish, you may create a temporary DJ in the Dream Journal forum for this challenge.
Only dreams that you have during the course of the challenge are eligible for points. If you join the challenge after the beginning of the first task, only dreams that you have after the time you join will count. It may be a good idea to make a comment in your DJ of where your first ND Challenge dream begins.
Technique Points
Chains will be counted as returning to the same or a very similar dream. For each time you awake and return to the same or a very similar dream, you will be awarded 5 points, additional to the regular recall points. There is no explicit time limit for how long you are awake in between, so feel free to write in a DJ if you think you can still manage to return afterwards. Each additional/continuation of the dream will be counted separately from the first, and you will be awarded points on recall accordingly.
Performing a Reality Check will award you 3 points, regardless of whether or not it succeeds in making you lucid. Multiple Reality Checks performed in a short time will only be counted as one. That is, you won’t receive triple points for doing three Reality Checks in a row.
Task Points
There will be five tasks. You will have seven days for each task. Completing the current task will get you 50 points. If you complete a previous task, you will get 25 points. You can complete multiple late tasks per dream.
You may also choose a personal goal, which will award 25 points upon completion. Please state your personal goal when you sign up. Once you have completed your goal, you may choose a new one.
Please note: As this challenge focuses on incubation, completing the task after becoming lucid will only award 20 points, your personal task will award 10 points, and a late task will award 10 points. This is not to penalize you for being lucid, rather it is because the ND Challenge is about dream incubation, not lucidity.
If you feel you have completed a task or your personal goal, please state which task you have completed and when you completed it.
In order to fairly accommodate varying timezones and schedules, a dream completing a task will be counted as a current task if the dream was had in a period of sleep that began before the current task closed. For example, if you were to go to sleep for the night at 21:00, and the task closes at 23:00, completing the task will count as current. I expect this grace period to be used within reason and that you will view the next task as soon as possible without disrupting your sleep routine.
Bonus Points
At the end of each task, I may give up to 30 bonus points to each participant, based on how well you recall your dreams, and the level of detail in your dream journal entries. This is meant to reward those who improve the quality of their dream recall, in addition to the number of dreams recalled.

Current Task
All tasks completed!
Previous Tasks
Task 1: Future Technologies
“I want to run, run, run to the Cities of the Future, take what I can, and bring it back home.”
~Infected MushroomThe future is full of wonder and waiting to be created. You are all creative and imaginative people, I can’t wait to see what you bring back from the future. In this task I want you to interact with a technology that has not yet been invented (to your knowledge). Try to come to understand how it works and what it is used for. Be imaginative and see what clever thing your mind comes up with!
Task 2: Monumental Monuments
“We stole the Statue of Liberty! [Minions cheer] The small one from Las Vegas. [Cheering stops] I won’t even mention the Eiffel Tower…also Vegas.”
~Gru (Dispicable Me) Monuments of all kinds hold great amounts of respect. Whether they are commemorative of a great human achievement, like Mount Rushmore in the USA, celebrating the lives of the most influential presidents, or are themselves a great achievement, like the massive Easter Island heads built with only primitive tools. Even if they are simply a monument to nature itself, like Victoria Falls, people will travel the world to see these wonders. So go out and find the most impressive monument of them all! Visit a famous monument and witness its wonder.
Please note, this is a location based task. Monumental events will not necessarily satisfy this task, unless they are taking place in what could be considered a monumental location thereafter. Additionally, fictional monuments are allowed, however, it must be clear in the dream that it is a major monument.
Task 3: Space!
“SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACE”
~Space Core (Portal 2) Outer space is the final frontier, or so they say. More people focus on the outer space than the inner space, the mind. But, we always focus on inner space here, on LD4all, so let’s use our inner space to project the outer space. Explore the universe, it’s pretty shiny and interesting! maybe you’ll visit a cosmic body, meet an alien, unravel the mystery of a black hole, or be captain of the starship Enterprise. Whatever adventure you have, it’s bound to be full of wonder. To complete this task you must be in outer space.
For this task, being on any planet will not count, you must be in/travel through outer space. I will count being on a star, asteroid, comet, or other cosmic body. Moons will be counted only if they do not seem to have an atmosphere.
Task 4: A World of Fantasy!
“This task doesn’t need a motivational quote! It should be fun on its own!”
~Ysim (Me) We’ve explored aspects of time and space. Future, past, the unknown, but always things of this reality. Now let’s step outside of reality and into the world told only in stories. Let’s explore those beings of myths and the places of legend. The world of high fantasy is your next task and you may use all the lore you want as its fuel. To complete this task, you must interact with a character or creature of fantasy, or witness a location from a fantasy story, legend, myth, etc. Simply hearing about it will not be enough, as that is what we already have in reality
Final Task: Magic!
“For in dreams we enter a world that is entirely our own.”
~Albus Dumbledore (Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban)You’re a wizard! No really, cast a spell, use The Force, read someone’s mind. Feel the exhilaration of magic flowing through you. To complete this task, use magic or use a magical device.
I know Clarke’s third law states “Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic”. I am leaving it up to you to determine whether you used magic/a magical device, or if there was evidence that it was really just futuristic technology.
