Want to help writing tutorials & FAQ's?

Previous part: Scribes needed! apply within

Hi everybody,

The forum has grown and grown. A lot of useful information resides within it but can be hard to find sometimes.

Here the LD4all knowledge base comes in. The purpose is to collect useful information, compiled in tutorials, FAQ’s and articles. By LD4all members, for LD4all members.

There the scribes come in.

They have the task of compiling FAQ’s and tutorials from the amazing amount of information we already have around.

The Scribes have their own private forum where they can discuss their projects (who does what, etc.).

On the tutorial forum they also have posting/deleting/editing rights - where all other users are only be able to read.

If you would like to participate in this, please sign in by replying to this post.

If you want to know more about being a scribe on LD4all read this guide

Applying

While I appreciate everyones enthousiasm and efforts to be a scribe, since this is all on voluntary basis, after all  Not everyone is automatically added to the group. (To prevent the scribes group from becoming just a “gimmick” to have an extra icon below your name)

Everyone who wants to join is therefore considered by the Head Scribe (me, for now  ). If you apply, please state the reason why you want to join, and if you already have an idea on a tutorial you want to make. (and if you have, what you would want to make)

Apply if you:* Love going through old post and collect useful material

  • Like writing
  • can work together well with other scribes
  • Have been a member for some time
  • Can give constructive feedback and can also work with feedback of others
  • Have made at least 50 useful posts

exceptions to these points can be made at the discretion of the head scribe.

If you already have written a very good tutorial/post/article about something it’s also possible to have that moved into the knowledge base. If you post something good in the forum, it can be moved. So don’t apply with finished articles

Thank you!

well i want to join because i actually do like going through old posts and by becoming a scribe i can my voluntary habit usefull :content: this would actually give me something to do when im up in the middle of the night and theres no one else to post annything. well my tutorial would have to be how to use all the buttons on the post a post page,(i had alot of problems with that). moving on, i am on alot!! but i cant be on all day every day though due to school,my life, etc. but i think ill get the job done

P.S:i did’nt know you get a little mark on the bottom of your profile if you are yaay now im even more excited!!! :woo:

No, not really a request to join the scribes. Just I was reading over the LD4all Guided Tour! and I want to pimp it up. Not just that it is outdated (pathways to Lucidity is gone, order has changed) but I want to pimp it up as well. Perhaps there are also some additions to the tour that could be included, a fifth or sixth stop? Or perhaps a 3 1/2?

Now, I am already short on time because of all the things I want to do but that should get better within a few weeks. I see I can still edit my own posts, so perhaps you will see a change all of a sudden within the next weeks :ebil:

I would like to join because I like helping other people have LDs, as I help my friend a lot. An idea I have in mind is a full WILD tutorial of the way that I do it, as there are no WILD tutorials in the knowledge base.

I would like to become a scribe, i have wayyy to much free time, and i’ll often spend that time just going through old topics, and i have a favorites folder of old topics i find useful

I can work well, I never procrastinate either. Except when doing homework, and when i’m loking for an excuse to not do homework i’m on LD4all! :content:

I also want to help people become lucid, i see a lot of people on this forum, who will list the things they want to do when they have an LD, but that ld never comes, and they give up and leave. I want to help those people have an Ld, to help themselves and to help LD4all.

sorry, Danielsn13, I can’t let you in

I appreciate you want to help, but being a scribe is not just “wanting to help out”, since everyone here is helping out others

Put me in, i already have a couple of ideas to develop (plus some adjustments to the older guides) ^^ with the help of other scribes, of course :content:

May I please join this grand group? I’ve been poking around for a while trying to find a way to help this forum out. Anyway, please consider this, I would love to contribute to the site that gave me the magic bullet!

Hey Magic Qwan, just wanting to help out is not enough, every LD4all member here is already helping out other members   So if you want to help out, you don’t need to be a scribe to do so

I see… Well (I’m posting from my 2nd period middle school class, by the way) I love writing, and, I believe that If I could help write post, it would help myself, as well as others. Best of both worlds… wait, that’s cliched … Better than PasQual’s cookies!

[A small TUT- My method , or a tip on LD (MIWILD))

does this qualify for the knowledge based forum?
and about scribes? i like all of the above and give tips - and made my own tutorial

but dont really have time time to be digging up old articles and reading.
Making compilations of articles and tips to make tutorials concise.

When i do have time ill subs scribe
Unless there is no requirement for as much work needed to be done.

Hope my little project of tutorial gets stickied : )

May I join the scribes? I love digging through old posts in order to find great LDing techniques that were forgotten years ago. For instance, I found a working WILD technique known as the “Dot technique” that was mentioned in a post dating from 2005. I also like writing about new techniques and my LDing experiences, and I have ideas for new tutorials on the Knowledge Base. For instance, I’m thinking of tutorials for WILD techniques other than the one already on the Knowledge Base, since certain WILD techniques would work better than others for some people. I’m also thinking about a guide for advanced dream control. Also, I like the idea of having a scribe icon under my avatar.

Welcome to the scribes, Vampirism45 :content:
Looking forward to those WILD techs

here is your key -> clicky

Hahahhaha  classy!
You made me remember when I saw that Scribes corner subforum for the first time, it was an amazing feeling :content:

I stole that from Bruno

Hi there :content: I would like to be a scribe for multiple reasons, mostly because I love to write. I noticed that there wasn’t much on relaxation in the knowledge base. Relaxation is the key to LD-ing for me (and I’m sure for many other people). I also have an idea for an article about a combination of MILD and WILD that I use. I love looking at old posts and learning new techniques.

welcome aboard, Puffycloud!

Hey all, I would like to volunteer to become a scribe because I believe I could contribute several things. First off, after several epiphanies and much study, I have become very interested in the SC. After looking through the forum and scanning the knowledge base, I was surprised to see we don’t have anything really definitive on it. That’s a shame due to the important role of our SC in our lives. There are various posts throughout the forum, and I would be more than happy to bring all of that knowledge together.

Beyond that I am relatively proficient at extending/stabalizing dreams, goal keeping, archiving and proofreading. You may not be able to tell from some of my posts, but I am a brilliant copy editor :content: . Like said, I simply want to volunteer my time. You won’t hurt my feelings in any way if you feel the Scribes aren’t for me.

Thanks for the consideration!

Welcome, Rhewin!

corny, but still works

I would really like to join as a scribe because I love writing, helping out, and meeting new people. I would also like to let the world know about Lucid Dreaming, how great it is, and how to achieve it. I would really like to help beginners to understand how to LD, and different techniques. I have also developed many Mantras and phrases that really work for me, in quite short period of time.
